Joel Osteen brings 'wear your blessing well'

22:44:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

Today’s Scripture
“Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him.”
(Genesis 26:12, NIV)
Wear your blessing well
One time Isaac was in a famine. There was a great drought in the land, but Isaac went out and planted crops right in the middle of that famine. It didn’t make any sense, but somehow in that same year of drought, the scripture says, “Isaac received 100 times what he had sown because the Lord blessed him.”

What’s interesting is that when Isaac got blessed, the people around him, the Philistines and his friends all of the sudden got jealous of him. They were fine as long as he was broke. As long as they were at the same level, it was no big deal. But when he stepped up to a new level, when he began to wear his blessings well, the scripture says, “The Philistines hated Isaac.”

Maybe you’ve noticed this in your own life. When you start to do better, the people around you don’t celebrate. They become jealous. But you can’t allow the attitudes of others hold you back and cause you to live in mediocrity. Instead, when you’re blessed, brag on God! Shake off the criticism of others and receive His blessing. Wear it well because when you honor Him, He will continue to increase and promote you all the days of your life!

A prayer for today
“Father, thank You for every good and perfect gift that You have poured out on my life. In humility, I choose to wear my blessings well. I won’t shrink back at the criticism of others; but instead, I will walk forward with You into the life of blessing You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

How To React To A Problem

21:40:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed. Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire.
Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third pot. He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing. After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup.
Turning to her, he asked. “Daughter, what do you see?” “Potatoes, eggs and coffee,” she hastily replied.
“Look closer”, he said, “and touch the potatoes.” She did and noted that they were soft.
He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.
“Father, what does this mean?” she asked.
He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity-the boiling water. However, each one reacted differently. The potato went in strong, hard and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak. The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard. However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.
“Which one are you?” he asked his daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?”

Morals: In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is how you choose to react to it and what you make out of it. Life is all about leaning, adopting and converting all the struggles that we experience into something positive.

Joel Osteen Brings 'Brag On Him'

21:26:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

Today’s Scripture
“The LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.”
(Psalm 118:23, NIV)
Brag on Him Today
David had a great attitude of faith in this verse. He was declaring the goodness of God and bragging on His faithfulness! We need to always remember that every blessing in life is from God. That promotion, good break, healing or new opportunity—that was God’s doing. Scripture says that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above.

There’s an old church song that says, “Look What the Lord Has Done.” It’s a song that just brags on God. It was a great reminder that all through the day we should be bragging on God’s goodness. We should be remembering His mighty acts. See, when we give God all the glory, that’s when He will pour out His blessings in greater measure. When we are humble and don’t try to take the credit, His grace and favor increases on us.

Today, look for opportunities to brag on God. If you are breathing today, brag on Him as your Creator. If you got to work safely today, brag on Him for being your Protector. If you are facing a difficulty, brag on the fact that He is your Deliverer and breakthrough is on the way! Keep declaring His goodness and faithfulness and watch what God will do on your behalf!

A Prayer for Today
“Father, You alone are worthy of all the praise and glory for the good things in my life! Thank You for blessing me; thank You for the breakthroughs in my past and the breakthroughs in my future. I bless You because You are good, and I choose to brag on You today in Jesus’ name! Amen.”

Joel Osteen Brings 'He Makes All Things New'

16:39:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

Today’s Scripture
“And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new...”
(Revelation 21:5, AMPC)

He makes all things new
When God puts a dream or a promise on the inside of you, He deposits within you everything you need to accomplish it. He wouldn’t give you the desire to do something without giving you the ability to fulfill it. In fact, the scripture tells us that God gives us the desires of our heart. In other words, He puts the desire inside of us and then works with us to bring it to pass.

Oftentimes, people set out to accomplish their dreams, but they face a setback or disappointment, and then they feel like their time has passed. But know this: no matter where you’ve come from, no matter what’s happened in your past, God wants to make you new. He wants to give you a fresh start. If you feel like you’ve missed opportunities in your life, if you feel like your time has passed, remember, today is a new day. You are a new person, and God has new opportunities in store for you.
A prayer for today
“Father, thank You for making all things new. I give You this day and invite You to have Your way in every area of my life. I choose to receive all of the promises You have in store for me and look for Your goodness in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

THE LITTLE GIRL THAT MEET WITH GOD

15:09:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

There once was a little girl who wanted to meet God. She knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so she packed her suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of root beer and started her journey. When she had gone about three blocks, she met an old woman. She was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons.
The girl sat down next to her and opened her suitcase. She was about to take a drink from her root beer when she noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so she offered her a Twinkie. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at her. Her smile was so pretty that the girl wanted to see it again, so she offered her a root beer. Once again she smiled at her. The girl was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.
As it grew dark, the girl realized how tired she was, and she got up to leave but before she had gone more than a few steps, she turned around, ran back to the old woman and gave her a hug. She gave her, her biggest smile ever. When the girl opened the door to her own house a short time later, her mother was surprised by the look of joy on her face. She asked her, “What did you do today that made you so happy?” she replied, “I had lunch with God.” But, before her mother could respond, she added, “You know what? She’s got the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!”
Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, “Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?” She replied, “I ate Twinkies in the park with God.” But, before her son responded, she added, “You know, she’s much younger than I expected.”
Moral: God is everywhere.  We just need to share our happiness and make others smile to feel him.

His Act Will Inspire You

14:42:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

A son took his old father to a restaurant for an evening dinner.  Father being very old and weak, while eating, dropped food on his shirt and trousers.  Other diners watched him in disgust while his son was calm.
After he finished eating, his son who was not at all embarrassed, quietly took him to the wash room, wiped the food particles, removed the stains, combed his hair and fitted his spectacles firmly.  When they came out, the entire restaurant was watching them in dead silence, not able to grasp how someone could embarrass themselves publicly like that.  The son settled the bill and started walking out with his father.
At that time, an old man amongst the diners called out to the son and asked him, “Don’t you think you have left something behind?”.
The son replied, “No sir, I haven’t”.
The old man retorted, “Yes, you have!  You left a lesson for every son and hope for every father”.
The restaurant went silent.
Moral: To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors.   We all know, how our parents cared for us for every little things.  Love them, respect them, and care for them.

Joel Osteen brings the land of hope

13:46:00 Posted by jeremiah hugo

Today’s Scripture
“...my flesh also will dwell in hope.”
(Acts 2:26, ESV)

The Land of Hope
Where are you dwelling in your heart today? In other words, what are you expecting to happen in your life? What kind of attitude do you have? If your thoughts are stuck and you’re focused on what’s wrong or what’s not working, then it’s time to make a move! It’s time to pack up your belongings and move out of the land of discouragement. It’s time to move out of the “Not-going-to-happen” subdivision and move out of “Can’t-do-it-ville.” It’s time to pack your bags and move into the land of hope, faith and expectation!

Every time you catch a negative thought, and instead, dwell on God’s promises, it’s like you are packing your bags. Every time you declare God’s faithfulness, you are taking a step in the right direction. The Bible says that those who hope in the Lord will never be put to shame. As you turn your focus toward Him, you are dwelling in the Land of Hope—a land where His peace, blessing and victory reside.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for ordering and directing my steps. Thank You for taking me to the land of hope! I choose to set my mind on You, knowing that You are faithful. I release the past and invite You to fill me with Your peace, blessing and victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
